"Participation in the Fifth Gulf Cancer Awareness Week, February 2020:

The activities of the fifth Gulf Cancer Awareness Week were launched under the slogan '40% Prevention... 40% Healing,' with the participation of numerous awareness-oriented civil society organizations and government institutions. Dr. Hessa Al-Shahin, Deputy Chairperson of the Women's Voluntary Association Board of Directors and Chairperson of the Coordinating Committee for the Week's events, pointed out that the goal of organizing the Gulf Week is to deliver an awareness message for early detection of cancer using various methods. She added that the idea of the week was initiated through the Gulf Cancer Control Center in Riyadh, affiliated with the Health Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, since 2016, in collaboration with the Gulf Cancer Control Federation, which includes 18 non-governmental associations working in the field of cancer control in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries."
