AL BABTAIN LIBRARY

KUWAIT CITY, KUWAIT

The new Babtain Library is designed to reflect its cultural mission through an inspiring yet modest architectural form. The 11,590 m2. building, dedicated to traditional poetry and historical manuscripts, is based on the concept of an open book. It features three main architectural elements, complemented by smaller sculptural details that symbolize its purpose. Two fortress-like walls on the east and west provide sun and noise protection while emphasizing the site's significance, and four connecting floors divide the internal space between them
