Dar Al-Jazera Consultants (AJC) is a progressive Architectural and Multi-disciplinary Engineering firm founded by Arch. Ahmad A. Al-Jihayem, in 1978.
The design was developed with the intention of creating a landmark in the area, providing a strong sense of identity to the Lebanon branch of the Arab Open University.
Primary design concerns included the creation of a friendly and attractive environment where people will gather to engage in the facilities and the educational and community activities that take place in them. Good interior design and land‐ scape reinforce the feeling of comfort and ease, minimizing and eliminating the user’s frustration, ensuring that their visit is a pleasant and rewarding experience. Located on a sloped site, the design takes advantage of the project’s terrain, providing opportunities for congregation as well as observation. Reinforced by horizontal banding, the language of the architecture unifies the campus into a sense of a singular building that is integrated into its landscape and embellishing a sense of harmony in all indoor and outdoor spaces.
