Emergency Sea Outfall

  • Only treated sewage effluent might be discharged in cases when TSE production is higher than TSE demand.
  • The ESO from the Stage 1 Plant to the sea originates near the Northeastern corner of the plant area in a straight line towards the sea where it will be extended for about 2 km into the sea.
  • The ESO will lead first through an open area, then cross the E40 road, then again lead through an open area parallel to a local road and, just before the shore line, cross a fenced plot which is owned by the State of Kuwait
  • The total length of the ESO is approximately 3.5 km with an additional 2 km pipeline leading into the sea.
  • Construction method: onshore — open cut; offshore - microtunneling

Wastewater Transmission System \ Design Build Operate

Egailah Waste Water Pumping Station, Egailah Additional & OGAL F pumping station

  • Egailah Waste Water Pumping Station (WWPS) was commissioned in the year 2011 and delivers wastewater with a current hydraulic capacity of up to 2.8 m3/s to the existing Riqqa WWTP.
  • The hydraulic capacity of Egailah WWPS shall be increased from 2.8 m3/s to 8.3 m3/s.
  • All upgrade measures shall be implemented without any interruption of the operation of the Egailah WWPS.
  • New substation (132/11 kv) to deliver sufficient power for the upgraded Egailah WWPS.

DBO - Piping Network for Wastewater Supply Line

  • The Treated Sewage Effluent (TSE) and Waste Water pipes network covers an overall length of more than 450 KM including 21 KM of microtunelling Network. The pipes are laid underground to have a safe and quick flow for the waste water to be treated.
  • The waste water transmission will be from Egailah and Sabah Al Ahmad and will be treated before sending to the reservoirs.
