Sheikha Fadia Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, the President of the Association, has issued an awareness statement to the Kuwaiti community in the face of the coronavirus pandemic, which reads:
"In line with the societal, national, and interactive role of the Kuwaiti Women's Voluntary Society for Community Service and Development, and in response to public affairs and current events, we firmly support the state in its precautionary government measures directed towards all segments of society. It is imperative to exercise caution, vigilance, and compliance with the Ministry of Health's guidelines to combat the emerging coronavirus pandemic that has afflicted us. The community's response to these instructions is a national duty and a legitimate obligation.
We also take this opportunity to commend the role of women who have swiftly intensified their efforts through their various workplaces, as they are among the most affected by this crisis. We appreciate the additional responsibilities that have befallen them, alongside their homes and jobs, through their various contributions and humanitarian responses by participating in the provision of awareness programs or medical care through various committees, catering to all age groups. This is the Kuwaiti woman, indeed a sister to the men.
I also address Kuwaiti women in particular, stressing the importance of their national and societal role alongside men in containing the spread of this pandemic. This includes taking care of their families, educating them, and warning them against mingling in densely populated public places, especially the elderly. They should also ensure the comfort of their family members at home to reduce unnecessary outings and emphasize the importance of continuous cleanliness, as it is the fundamental factor in preventing infection and avoiding it."
"The spread of the novel coronavirus today is an international problem that threatens public health, causing concern due to the danger it poses to the health, social, economic, and developmental aspects. The Kuwaiti Women's Voluntary Society appeals to all Kuwaiti families and residents of this noble land, emphasizing the importance of joining forces and coming together, each in their own capacity, to preserve the safety of the nation and its citizens.
We are in dire need of unity, solidarity, and working together as one to protect society in this exceptional circumstance. This time does not tolerate indifference, manipulation, or negligence from anyone. Everyone must bear responsibility, and there should be transparency and accountability for anyone who seeks to profit from the current situation facing the country.
We pray to Allah Almighty for the swift recovery of those afflicted, and may God protect Kuwait and its people from all harm under the leadership of our compassionate leader and his trustworthy heir, may God protect and watch over them.
Be reassured... God will take care of it in ways you don't know... Trust in God and say, 'Oh Lord.
Sheikha Fadia Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, the President of the Association, has sent a reassurance message to Kuwaiti women in the face of the coronavirus pandemic, which reads:
السلام عليكم ورحمه الله وبركاته،،،
بداية انني افتخر واعتز بتفاعلكم وتلبيتكم لنداء الواجب الاجتماعي والوطني الذي يشهد به العالم اجمع...ويعكس مدى الولاء والانتماء لهذا الوطن العزيز ويرسخ أهمية المسئولية المجتمعية لكافة أطياف المجتمع.
Dear Sisters and Daughters,
Peace be upon you and the mercy and blessings of God.
First, I want to express my pride and appreciation for your response and commitment to the social and national duty that the whole world is witnessing. It reflects the loyalty and attachment to this beloved country and underscores the importance of societal responsibility for all segments of society.
I would like to send you these words in these challenging circumstances. I had hoped we could be together through our regular meetings, but this pandemic has prevented us from meeting in person. We pray to God Almighty to lift this cloud and affliction, so Kuwait can continue to be the shining star of the Gulf and the jewel of the Middle East, as it has always been.
I urge all of you to understand the importance of following the health measures, both local and international. Whether you must go out or are staying at home, please remember to wear masks, gloves, and to continuously wash your hands. Ensure the cleanliness of your homes by using disinfectants and avoid gatherings or close contact with others. This is to protect your health and the safety of our nation
Indeed, I am optimistic that relief from God is near. Our extended Kuwaiti family will be reunited on our homeland as our sons return from abroad, the sick recover, and life returns to normal for our society. This pandemic, which the world is facing, does not distinguish between advanced and developing countries. So far, no treatment or vaccine has been discovered for this disease. Therefore, I believe our path is to turn to God, supplicating to Him to remove this calamity and avert this pandemic through His grace and mercy.
In this message, I want to point out that the state faces many challenges due to the issue of expatriates stranded abroad, compounded by the lack of cooperation from some countries in receiving them. Therefore, it is incumbent upon all of us to come together and unite until this crisis is resolved. Afterward, there will be time for discussion. We are currently in a situation that does not require hostility, strained relations, or falling prey to those on social media who deny or belittle Kuwait's generosity and contributions.
I have a deep belief that this crisis is not a test but rather a blessing from God, which makes us appreciate the security and safety He has bestowed upon Kuwait, as well as the wisdom and transparency of the political leadership in managing this crisis with compassionate guidance and a far-sighted vision from His Highness the Amir, may God protect him. We must preserve these blessings and play our role in serving the community, each according to their abilities.
In the Kuwaiti Women's Voluntary Society for Community Service and Development, we have contributed within our limited means. Food baskets and sanitization kits have been distributed in some areas in Kuwait, and we will continue these contributions to alleviate some of the burdens on the state and strengthen our societal involvement.
We are in this crisis, and we do not know its duration, but we will face it with determination and strength, with the help and forgiveness of God. I have great hope that God will bring relief, and life will return to normal, with the reopening of mosques and places of worship, where we can remember God's name. I wish for my sisters and daughters to exercise patience and perseverance, spend your time reading the Quran and supplicating in your prayers, take care of your health, and handle matters practically. The most important thing is to maintain your mental health because it reflects on your family members. Therefore, I thought it best to consult with a specialist to prepare some educational messages for our members. I would also like to hear any suggestions or insights from you in this regard.
Finally, I promise you that I will stay in touch with you through voice messages, in the hope that we will meet soon and gather in goodness, health, and love.
O Allah, protect this country and all Muslim lands, keep calamities and pandemics away from them, and avert them through Your grace and mercy, O the Most Generous and Most Mercifu
For the Training Course on the Concept of Social Gender and Support for Women's Issues Impact
Ladies and gentlemen,
With the growing role of civil society organizations in solidifying the frameworks and principles of community partnership, when visions align, and objectives harmonize, it undoubtedly results in a societal contribution that reflects the capacity of civil entities to educate and enlighten society. Based on this concept, the Kuwaiti Union of Women's Associations has sought to establish a community partnership with the Arab Women's Organization, culminating in the organization of a joint training course on "the concept of social gender and support for women's issues." This course is directed towards the leaders of civil society and women's associations. The Women's Union hopes for the continuity of this collaboration and partnership, as well as the completion of the memorandum of understanding between the Union and the organization, to enrich cooperation and disseminate benefits.
I would like to express my appreciation and gratitude for the efforts and contributions of Dr. Fadia Kiwan in organizing this course, which marks the beginning of our cooperation. We hope to see it repeated in the future. In this context, I am pleased to invite Dr. Fadia to visit the State of Kuwait, her second homeland, to learn about the experience of Kuwaiti women in the field of public service, once the COVID-19 pandemic subsides.
Ladies and gentlemen,
On behalf of myself and on behalf of the Kuwaiti Women's Voluntary Society for Community Service and Development, I extend sincere congratulations to His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the leader of humanitarian work, His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, "may God protect them all," and to the dear citizens and residents of Kuwait, and to the entire Islamic and Arab nation on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan. May God grant us all goodness, blessings, and prosperity.
I express my heartfelt thanks to the Prime Minister and the ministers, each in their capacity, for their commendable efforts in containing the COVID-19 pandemic, measures that have been praised by the World Health Organization.
We can only express our great gratitude for the tremendous dedication shown by the medical sector with all its personnel, the security and military agencies in all their branches and specializations, and the civilian supporting agencies that are at the forefront of the pandemic response. We have witnessed their heroic national efforts, reflecting the depth of solidarity and cooperation in light of their broad human dimensions. We pray to God to protect and strengthen them.
As words fail to convey our gratitude for the orders of His Highness the Amir, the leader of the country, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, "may God protect him," in evacuating all Kuwaiti citizens stranded abroad and willing to return, in the largest evacuation operation in Kuwait's history, we call on all our brothers and sisters returning to strictly adhere to the Ministry of Health's instructions and fully comply with them, especially those undergoing home quarantine. If patriotism is mutual giving, then today our role in returning Kuwait's favor is to fully adhere to the principle of home quarantine until the specified period ends. Our salvation from the COVID-19 pandemic is fundamentally linked to our complete commitment, after God's protection.
We ask God, as we are on the threshold of the blessed month of Ramadan, for well-being and to lift the pandemic from us, and to protect Kuwait—its leadership, government, and people—and all of humanity, from the evils of disasters, pandemics, and wars
